Front Line Story

I could share statistics, but I think a story would give you a better sense of impact. Here’s a story from the front line.

A girl told her mentor about her plan to lose her virginity to her boyfriend later that same day. The mentor listened compassionately and encouraged her to consider 1 Cor 10:23 as she made her plans. She reminded the girl not only of the potential risks of such a choice, but of her life goals, the kinds of boundaries that healthy relationships have and God’s plan for her life. The girl left the meeting with a hug and affirmation that she was valuable and loved no matter what she chose to do. Late that night, the mentor received an email from the girl thanking her for her guidance and letting her know that the girl had chosen to wait.
